Student Assistants
Starting Salary: $9.00 per hour
Hours: 5 to 20 hours per week*

Student Assistants serve as the first point of contact for the office. Their duties entail answering the office phones, providing assistance to CAS professional staff, including front desk reception, tutoring desk reception, and tracking and recording attendance in the tutoring rooms.
Responsibilities:
- Answer all incoming calls to the Center for Academic Success or the Tutoring Reception Desk; direct the calls to the appropriate personnel
- Give information about our services to students, faculty, and staff
- Keep work environment clean and orderly
- Perform various clerical duties
- Sign students, tutors, and TA's in and out of appointments and drop-in sessions
- Track hours worked and complete timesheets accordingly
Minimum Qualifications:
- Georgia Tech undergraduate student in Good Academic Standing and Good Judicial Standing
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Responsible, dependable, honest, and trustworthy
- Friendly, patient, and sensitive to a diversity of students
- Basic knowledge of Georgia Tech's campus and campus services

1-to-1 Tutors
Starting Salary: $11.00 per hour
Hours: 7 to 20 hours per week*
1-to-1 Tutors provide individual and small group tutoring sessions to currently enrolled Georgia Tech students. All of our tutors participate in a training and certification program focused on developing practical and transferable skills for their future careers.
In order to support a course, 1-to-1 Tutors must have earned an "A" in the course at Georgia Tech (Transfer / AP Credits Not Eligible).
Responsibilities:
- Check TutorTrac daily to review tutoring schedule and be punctual for all scheduled tutoring sessions
- Provide a minimum of seven hours of availability per week for tutoring sessions
- Track hours worked and complete timesheets accordingly
- Complete required Peer Tutor Training course in the first semester of tutoring
- Attend all trainings and biweekly meetings
Minimum Qualifications:
- Georgia Tech undergraduate student in Good Academic Standing and Good Judicial Standing
- Have completed at least one full semester at Georgia Tech
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Be eligible to support a minimum of three courses, including currently enrolled courses. Grades will be pulled at the beginning and end of each semester to ensure requirements are met.
- Be available to tutor at least seven hours per week
- Have a faculty reference
- Be available to enroll in the training course, CETL 2001: Fundamentals of Peer Tutoring, on Thursdays at 10:55 - 11:45 AM during the first semester of tutoring

Peer-Led Undergraduate Study (PLUS) Leaders
Starting Salary: $11.00 per hour
Hours: Approximately eight hours per week*
(3hr Attending Lectures)+(2hr Facilitating Sessions)+(2hr Preparation)+(1hr Faculty/Team Meetings)
PLUS Leaders facilitate weekly review sessions for specific courses during which they encourage students to collaborate with their classmates to tackle problems and discuss the concepts covered during lecture. In the sessions, leaders foster discussion to enhance critical thinking, encourage students to use course resources, and demonstrate learning techniques to supplement lectures and assignments.
In order to support a course, PLUS Leaders must have earned an "A" in the course at Georgia Tech (Transfer / AP Credits Not Eligible).
Responsibilities:
- Attend all lectures for the selected course and get their lecture attendance card signed
- Plan and facilitate two regularly scheduled one-hour study sessions per week
- Meet regularly with assigned PLUS Faculty Member
- Send session reminder announcements and submit session plans before each session
- Track and submit attendance data
- Accurately track hours worked and complete timesheets accordingly
- Complete required Peer Tutor Training course in the first semester of tutoring
- Attend all trainings and biweekly team meetings
Minimum Qualifications:
- Georgia Tech undergraduate student in Good Academic Standing and Good Judicial Standing
- Have completed at least one full semester at Georgia Tech
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Be eligible to support the selected course. Grades will be pulled at the beginning and end of each semester to ensure requirements are met.
- Be available to attend all lectures for the selected course and facilitate two one-hour study sessions per week
- Have a faculty reference

Graphic Design Student Assistant
Starting Salary: $11.00 per hour
Hours: Varied
In addition to the positions above, the Center for Academic Success also hires a Graphic Design Student Assistant to help the staff with the creation and maintenance of design elements and documents.
Responsibilities:
- Help develop marketing plan, announcements, and strategies for our services (tutoring, academic coaching, PLUS, etc.)
- Design print material, web banners, and social media icons
- Create and implement social media campaigns for different initiatives
- Design and maintain social media sites (e.g. Facebook, Twitter)
- Assist with outreach to current and incoming student populations including tabling, placement and distribution of marketing materials on campus, and social media
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Georgia Tech undergraduate student in Good Academic Standing and Good Judicial Standing
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud (especially Illustrator or Photoshop)
- Ability to produce marketing collateral using Adobe Suite of design products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Responsible, dependable, honest, and trustworthy
- Friendly, patient, and sensitive to a diversity of students
- Basic knowledge of Georgia Tech's campus and campus services
- Eager to lend their voice and aesthetic to the creative process
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pursuit of a design-related major within the College(s) of Computing, Business, Design, or Liberal Arts
- Experience with Drupal, Wordpress, or other content management systems
- Experience with website design and marketing strategy
- Experience marketing to undergraduate student populations

Explore Tutor
Starting Salary: $11.00 per hour
Hours: 4-8 hours per week*

Explore Tutors provide individual and small group tutoring sessions to currently enrolled Georgia Tech students who are part of the Explore Living Learning Communities. This service is a drop-in program offered in collaboration with the Explore LLC and the Center for Academic Success which takes place in a designated tutoring space in the residence halls. Explore Tutors are also eligible to serve as a 1-to-1 Tutor or PLUS Leader in addition to this role. All of our tutors participate in a training and certification program focused on developing practical and transferable skills for their future careers.
In order to support a course, Explore Tutors must have earned an "A" in the course at Georgia Tech (Transfer / AP Credits Not Eligible).
Responsibilities:
- Work a minimum of 4 hours (2 shifts) per week in the Explore tutoring lounge
- Track hours worked and complete timesheets accordingly
- Complete required Peer Tutoring Training course in the first semester of tutoring
- Attend all trainings and biweekly meetings
Minimum Qualifications:
- Georgia Tech undergraduate student in Good Academic Standing and Good Judicial Standing
- Have completed at least one full semester at Georgia Tech
- Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Be eligible to support either [CHEM 1211K and 1212K] or [MATH 1551, 1552, and 1553 (1554 and 1564 are eligible to support 1553)]. Grades will be pulled at the beginning and end of eac semester to ensure requirements are met.

Physics Learning Assistant (LA)

Physics Learning Assistants (LA) work in the Physics Help Desk helping students who are taking Physics I and II. This service is a drop-in program offered in collaboration with the School of Physics and the Center for Academic Success. Physics Learning Assistants are also eligible to serve as a 1-to-1 Tutor or PLUS Leader in addition to this role. All of our tutors participate in a training and certification program focused on developing practical and transferable skills for their future careers.
In order to support a course, Physics Learning Assistants must have earned an "A" in the course at Georgia Tech (Transfer / AP Credits Not Eligible).
Responsibilities:
- Work a minimum of 4 hours per week in the Physics Help Desk
- Track hours worked and complete timesheets accordingly
- Complete required Peer Tutoring Training course in the first semester of tutoring
- Attend all trainings and biweekly meetings
Minimum Qualifications:

BME FOCUS Tutor
Starting Salary: $11.00 per hour
Hours: 4 to 20 hours per week

FOCUS Tutoring is a free, drop-in program offered in collaboration with the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Center for Academic Success. FOCUS Tutors typically hold one or more shifts from 7-9 PM in U.A. Whitaker and support BME courses such as BMED 2210, 3100, 3400, and 3520. FOCUS Tutors are also eligible to serve as a 1-to-1 Tutor or PLUS Leader in addition to their role. All of our tutors participate in a training and certification program focused on developing practical and transferable skills for their future careers.
In order to support a course, Physics Learning Assistants must have earned an "A" in the course at Georgia Tech (Transfer / AP Credits Not Eligible).
Responsibilities:
- Work a minimum of 4 hours (2 shifts) per week in the FOCUS tutoring lounge
- Track hours worked and complete timesheets accordingly
- Complete required Peer Tutoring Training course in the first semester of tutoring
